As usual in more and more tourist places of the world, there is no real Sunday anymore in Florence. At least in the city centre many shops are open 7 days a week. Also many supermarkets are open every day.

Typical opening hours of the larger tourist shops in Florence are from about 10 am to 8 pm or 9 pm. Smaller shops often have a lunch break (siesta). Supermarkets and smaller shops in Florence usually have no break. Supermarkets, bakeries and butchers open well before 10 am. Typical is from 8 o’clock, some bakeries even earlier.
